Information You Submit
When a search widget is used, the address or owner name entered is sent to the outside provider that supplies the results. Jackson County Property Records does not maintain a copy of those search terms on its own server. A message sent to us includes the details the sender chooses to provide; those details are used to answer that message.
Basic Visit Logs
The host may record standard technical data such as an IP address, browser type, requested pages, and visit times. These logs support site security, troubleshooting, and aggregate traffic review. Cookies or similar tools may support basic analytics or advertising measurement where enabled.
How Information Is Used
Technical logs help keep the service running, spot faults, and understand overall use. We do not sell visitor lists or build personal profiles from those logs.
County and Other External Links
Jackson County links may lead to the Clerk, Assessor, Sheriff, Beacon map, court portals, libraries, or outside search vendors. Each operator sets its own privacy terms. Information submitted there follows that operator's policy, including data entered into sponsored search results.
Service Providers and Disclosures
Hosting and support vendors may process server logs to run the pages. Analytics or advertising partners may receive the technical information described above. We disclose information when valid legal process requires it.
Safeguards and Retention
The site uses an encrypted connection. Technical logs are retained only for operating and security needs. Because the service has no user accounts, it does not keep account passwords or profile pages.
Children's Information
These public-record reference pages are intended for adults and are not aimed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. Contact us if you believe a minor submitted information, and we will review the request.
Requests About Personal Data
Send a request about information this private reference may hold through the Contact page. The research used for this build identified the West Virginia Freedom of Information Act, W. Va. Code ch. 29B, for records held by public bodies; it did not identify a generally applicable West Virginia consumer-privacy statute. FOIA does not govern this private site's own server logs. Public property records held by Jackson County or state offices must be corrected or reviewed through the custodian.
Policy Changes
We will post a revised notice here if information practices change. The terms of the current posted version apply to later visits.
