Jackson County Property Records Terms of Use

These conditions apply when you use Jackson County Property Records. If you do not agree with them, stop using the service.

1. Nature of the Reference

Jackson County Property Records is privately operated. It summarizes and links to deeds, assessments, tax records, and parcel resources for Jackson County, West Virginia. It is not a government office, court, recorder, or assessor, and it does not host official county records.

2. Acceptable Use

Use these pages and search routes only as allowed by law. You must not use the service or information found through it to:

  • Stalk, harass, intimidate, threaten, or harm any person
  • Commit deed fraud, identity theft, or any other fraud
  • Make FCRA-regulated decisions (credit, employment, tenant, insurance)
  • Harvest and republish site content in bulk
  • Disrupt the service or try to bypass its security

3. Consumer Reporting Notice

This service is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. § 1681 et seq. Neither these pages nor linked search results are a consumer report. They cannot be used to decide eligibility for any purpose regulated by that law.

4. No Title Opinion, Survey, or Legal Advice

A records lookup does not establish clear title, locate a legal boundary, or give legal advice. Consult a title company for a title review, a licensed surveyor for boundary work, and an attorney for legal questions.

5. Outside Services

Jackson County portals, state systems, and third-party tools follow their own terms. We do not control their information, uptime, prices, or treatment of submitted data.

6. No Warranty

The service is supplied "as is" and "as available." We make no promise that a page or link is complete, current, error-free, or available at all times, or that an outside portal will return a correct result.

7. Liability Limits

To the fullest extent allowed by law, the operators are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss tied to use of this service or an outside resource, including reliance on a record found through a link.

8. Responsibility for Misuse

You agree to protect the operators from claims, demands, and reasonable legal costs caused by your unlawful use of the service or breach of these terms.

9. Site Materials

The original writing, logo, design, and layout are protected by copyright. You may link to a page or quote a short excerpt with credit. Do not republish whole pages or copy the content systematically.

10. Revised Terms

A new version takes effect when posted here. Continued use after that posting indicates acceptance of the revised terms.

11. Governing Law and Public Records

West Virginia law governs these terms, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. The West Virginia Freedom of Information Act, W. Va. Code §29B-1-1 et seq., governs access requests directed to public bodies that hold records; it does not make this private site a custodian of Jackson County files.

12. Severability

If a court finds one term unenforceable, the remaining terms continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.
